Breathe underwater for the very first time in one of the most celebrated marine sanctuaries in the Caribbean: the Cousteau Reserve at Pigeon Island, Bouillante. Surrounded by warm tropical waters (28°C / 82°F) and crystal-clear visibility, your introductory dive will be an unforgettable moment of serenity and discovery.

You will be paired one-on-one with a state-certified dive instructor who guides you gently every second of the dive down to a maximum depth of 6 meters (20 feet). Encounter curious sea turtles, parrotfish, blue tangs, and magnificent coral gardens in complete comfort and safety.

    Welcome & Gear Fitting at Malendure Beach

    Arrive at the dive center, meet your friendly instructor, and get fitted with your wetsuit, mask, and fins.

    Scenic Boat Ride to Pigeon Islands (10 min)

    Board the dive boat for a pleasant short crossing across the bay to the Cousteau Reserve islands.

    3

    Underwater Exploration & First Dive

    Enter the warm water and dive gently with your dedicated instructor, observing marine turtles and tropical coral fish.

    Return & Certificate Presentation

    Cruise back to Malendure, rinse off, and receive your personalized introductory diving certificate.

Frequently Asked Questions

General Information

Do I need a medical certificate for a first dive?

A medical certificate is generally not required for a standard first dive (Baptême), provided you do not suffer from major medical contraindications (such as severe asthma or heart conditions). A standard health questionnaire is filled out upon arrival.

Can I fly right after my first dive?

For a shallow introductory dive (max 6m), it is recommended to wait at least 12 hours before taking an airplane. Please plan your dive accordingly in your trip itinerary.
